PDA (NJ) to Join Boys ECNL Northeast Conference for 2017-18 Season

RICHMOND, VA (February 1, 2017) – The Elite Clubs National League is excited to announce that Players Development Academy (PDA) from New Jersey will be joining the Boys ECNL beginning in the 2017-2018 season as a member of the Northeast Conference.

PDA has long been recognized as one of the top boys clubs in the country – in terms of both player development and competitive success.

With nearly 40 players selected to boys’ youth national teams since 2008, 172 players moving into college soccer since 2013 (including 17 in 2016’s graduating class alone), and 39 current alums playing professionally across the world, PDA has developed players of incredible quality at almost every level.

PDA’s boys teams have also been phenomenally successful on the field.  The club is the only non-MLS club to win a boys Development Academy championship in the past 4 years, and has qualified multiple age groups to the play-offs for multiple years.  In 2016, PDA’s U13 and U16 boys’ teams both advanced to the USYS Region 1 Championships.

“We are delighted to be accepted by the ECNL and will use this opportunity to strengthen and improve the quality of programming for our High School aged players,” said PDA Boys’ Director of Coaching Gerry McKeown.  “Our mission is to nurture and develop the top players in NJ regardless of which pathway they choose.”

The Boys ECNL Northeast Conference will feature regular season conference competition and regular season cross-conference events. Qualifying teams from the conference, based on regular season performance, will advance to the post-season championship of the ENPL, along with qualifiers from various National Premier Leagues across the country.

The ENPL is the post-season competition created through the collaboration between US Club Soccer and the ECNL.  More information will also be released about the format, structure, and qualifying process of the ENPL in the coming weeks.
