Boys ECNL Announces Final National Event in 2017-18 in Conjunction with FC Delco Players Cup

Richmond, VA (June 14, 2017) – The Boys Elite Clubs National League (Boys ECNL) and the FC Delco Players Cup have finalized a three-year agreement to host a regular season Boys ECNL National Event on Memorial Day weekend in 2018, 2019, and 2020 at United Sports Training Center. United Sports Training Center boasts 4 synthetic turf and 6 natural grass fields, and is considered one of the premier complexes in the Northeast.

“We are extremely excited to be a host for one of the inaugural Boys ECNL National Events,” John Hatt, Vice President of APL Tournaments said about the partnership. “Through this partnership, the FC DELCO Players Cup will transform from a regional event onto the national stage.  It will provide a combination of talented teams, top class facilities, and high level event management.”

“We are really excited to add this partnership to the line-up of Boys ECNL National Events for the inaugural 2017-18 season,” said ECNL President Christian Lavers.  “Each of the three events will provide great competition and showcasing, a wide diversity of opponents, and a fantastic atmosphere for the players.”

This is the final Boys ECNL National Event to be announced for the 2017-2018 Boys ECNL National Event Series:

  • Boys ECNL Florida | December 31, 2017 – January 2, 2018
  • Boys ECNL San Diego | April 20-22, 2018
  • Boys ECNL Pennsylvania | May 26 – 28, 2018

Each Boys ECNL National Event will include top competition at U15, U16, U17, and U18/19 age groups between clubs from across the country.

About FC Delco Players Cup: The FC DELCO Players Cup was established in 1999, with the simple idea of hosting quality teams, playing at good facilities, and being professionally managed.  The tournament started with 48 teams, and has steadily grown into one of the premier Memorial Day events in the region.  On average 700 teams a year now attend the Players Cup.  The FC DELCO Players Cup is hosted by Continental FC, and managed by APL Tournaments.  Continental FC was created in 2013 as a merger between FC DELCO and Spirit United Soccer Club.  Continental FC is a proud member of both Boys and Girls ECNL.
