Houston ECNL Hurricane Relief Fund

  • September 6, 2017

RICHMOND, VA (September 6, 2017) – Hurricane Harvey has left a wake of devastation and catastrophic flooding throughout Houston. While food, water, and basic supplies are the most pressing needs for many, many families will soon also face the need to replace lost, damaged or destroyed personal items. In conjunction with the Houston ECNL Clubs (Challenge Soccer Club, Albion Hurricanes FC and Texans Soccer Club Houston), the ECNL has created the Houston ECNL Hurricane Relief Fund to help replace soccer related equipment and supplies for the soccer families of Houston.

The Houston ECNL Hurricane Relief Fund will use 100% of donated funds and equipment for the following:

  1. Replacement of players’ soccer equipment, including but not limited to: shoes, training gear, uniforms, soccer balls, etc.
  2. Scholarships to assist players who might not be able to play because of the disaster.
  3. Replacement of lost and damaged equipment at Meyer Park, home of the Texas ECNL National Event in February, which suffered from nearly 10 feet of flooding.

Members of the ECNL community who would like to contribute towards this relief effort are welcome and encouraged to help. The ECNL will donate $5000 in equipment and financial aid to help in these efforts.

Challenge Soccer Club will manage the collection and distribution of the Houston ECNL Hurricane Relief Fund. The donation procedure is as follows:

  • All donation checks should include a brief letter stating the donor’s name and a mailing address. A receipt will be sent to the donor.
  • All checks should be made out Challenge – ECNL Clubs Relief Fund.
  • The memo line should say Houston ECNL Relief.
  • Checks can be mailed to:
    The Challenge Soccer Club
    16720 Stuebner Airline Rd., #279
    Spring, TX 77379

Challenge Soccer Club, Albion Hurricanes FC, Texans Soccer Club Houston, Klein Soccer Club, and the thousands of players and families they include, will appreciate the support of the ECNL and its members!
