ENPL Playoffs and NPL Finals Provide Big Stage for Boys ECNL Teams to Shine

RICHMOND, VA (July 5, 2018) – Featuring the top teams from Boys ECNL Conferences and National Premier Leagues (NPL) across the country, the inaugural ENPL Playoffs and NPL Finals concluded on July 3rd with numerous Boys ECNL teams finding success at each event.

In the ENPL Playoffs, the top boys’ competition within US Club Soccer, qualifying teams from U14 – U17 advanced to the ENPL Finals where the National Champions will be crowned in Aurora, CO next week.  The U18/19 ENPL National Champions, however, were crowned on July 3, when Boys ECNL club Ohio Premier claimed the first ever ENPL National Championship in a 3-1 victory of NEFC (MA).

For the U14 – U17 age groups, the ENPL Playoffs took place at two venues, with the Eastern Playoffs held in Lancaster, MA, and the Western Playoffs held in San Diego, CA. The top 2 teams from each Boys ECNL conference across the country qualified for the ENPL Playoffs, along with the top 2 teams from each NPL.

At each age group, a total of 32 teams in the Eastern Playoffs and 32 in the Western Playoffs competed to advance to the ENPL Finals.  Boys ECNL teams competed exceptionally well, with the league represented by at least one team in each age group at the ENPL Finals where the National Champions will be crowned:

  • U14 Age Group:
    • TSC Hurricane Boys ECNL U14
    • Phoenix Rising Boys ECNL U14
  • U15 Age Group:
    • Phoenix Rising Boys ECNL U15
    • Tennessee SC Boys ECNL U15
  • U16 Age Group:
    • Penn Fusion SA Boys ECNL U16
  • U17 Age Group:
    • Classics Elite Boys ECNL U17
    • Slammers FC Boys ECNL U17
    • Tampa Bay United Rowdies Boys ECNL U17

In addition to the ENPL Playoffs, thirty-six Boys ECNL teams qualified for the NPL Finals to fight for the NPL Eastern or Western championship against each other and teams from NPLs in each half of the country.  In the end, three Boys ECNL teams were crowned NPL Eastern or Western Champions:

  • Match Fit Academy Boys ECNL U16 (Eastern Champions)
  • Alabama FC Boys ECNL U17 (Eastern Champions)
  • FC Wisconsin Boys ECNL U17 (Western Champions)
