ECNL Boys Northeast Conference Selection Program & SuperCup Schedule, Rosters Announced

 

RICHMOND, VA (March 3, 2020) – The schedule and rosters for the Elite Clubs National League Boys Northeast Conference Selection Program (CSP) and Conference SuperCup have been announced, with the event set for March 7-8, 2020 in Wilmington, Delaware.  The ECNL Boys CSP and SuperCup events provide an opportunity for top players within each ECNL conference to play with and against the best players within their region across multiple age groups, gaining additional developmental and exposure opportunities. 

The Northeast Conference will kick off the first of the ECNL Boys CSP and SuperCup events this weekend at the 76ers Fieldhouse in Delaware, an impressive training facility with full-sized indoor and outdoor fields.

The Conference SuperCup is a ‘final four’ competition featuring the top four clubs in the Northeast Conference as based upon rankings from the 2018-2019 season.  These clubs – Penn Fusion SA, PDA, FSA FC, and Match Fit Academy – will each form one team of top players in the 2002-2005 birth years that will compete for the Conference SuperCup Championship.

Running alongside the Conference SuperCup will be the CSP event, set to include some of the best players from the following ECNL Boys clubs in the Northeast Conference:  Albertson Fury, Baltimore Celtic, Boston Bolts, Connecticut FC, East Meadow SC, FC Bucks, FC Delco, FC Stars, Manhattan SC, Maryland United FC, STA, and World Class. Selected players are separated into four teams, each participating in one training session and two matches over the course of the weekend.

Players are selected for the ECNL Conference Selection Programs based on their performance in ECNL competitions and recommendations from coaches. Each CSP will occur over two days and will include three training sessions/matches.  All players will receive PUMA training gear. The ECNL Boys will be covering the costs of participation in the ECNL Boys Conference Selection Programs, excluding travel costs for participating players.

The ECNL Player Identification Programs are sanctioned as Olympic Development Programs (ODP) via US Club Soccer’s id2 and Player Development Programs.
