ECNL BOYS READY FOR FUN IN THE SUN WITH ECNL SAN DIEGO NATIONAL EVENT

The ECNL Boys season is in full swing, with every conference playing multiple league games already. 

And now comes the first national event of the year, as ECNL San Diego kicks off this weekend. 

ECNL San Diego will feature more than 80 teams from more than 30 clubs, ranging from Pre-ECNL ages (U12) to the U14 age group, and it will be the first time these young age groups experience an ECNL national event. The atmosphere, the competition, camaraderie between teams and clubs, and more will be on display for the first time at ECNL San Diego. 

In the U13 age group, Eastside FC has a compelling schedule, as the three teams it will face this weekend have a combined eight wins and two draws in 13 contests so far this season. The club from just east of Seattle will battle three Southern California teams in Del Mar Sharks (3-0-0), West Coast FC (1-3-1) and Legends FC (4-0-1), each of which will present a tough test to start the season. 

At the U14 age level, San Antonio City SC is one of the few Texas teams making the trip to San Diego.  They too will face three California teams in Santa Rosa United (3-1-0), San Juan SC (2-1-0) and LAFC So Cal (1-1-1). San Antonio City SC sits in second place in the South Division of the Texas Conference, and ECNL San Diego will set a good barometer for the types of teams the team could see if it continues its current form all the way to the National Playoffs. 

These teams and the rest of the field will use ECNL San Diego to continue to build off early success and as a launching pad for the rest of the 2021-22 ECNL season. For teams such as MVLA, Seattle United and SDSC Surf, all of whom were semifinals for the 2021 ECNL Boys U13 National Finals, ECNL San Diego is the first chance to build off that success on the national stage.
